“Tragedy in Northeast Philadelphia: A Closer Look at the Plane Crash Site on Bustleton & Cottman”

On January 31, 2025, a tragic plane crash occurred in Northeast Philadelphia near the intersection of Cottman and Bustleton Avenues, close to Roosevelt Mall. A medical transport Learjet 55, carrying six individuals—including a pediatric patient, her mother, and four crew members—crashed shortly after takeoff from Northeast Philadelphia Airport. Tragically, all six onboard perished, along with one person on the ground.  The impact was devastating, resulting in a massive explosion that sent debris scattering across the neighborhood.
